Are we ready to perform therapeutic homicide

Here is an interesting article from the Canadian Medical Association Journal adressing some of the issues medically and ethically surrounding Physician Assisted Death.

“In Belgium where euthanasia has been legal since 2002, half of all non sudden deaths are the result of some decision to hasten the end of life”

This is not a debate in which we can remain either neutral or silent. From this article  “Removing the legal barrier to ending anothers life may ensure the self dignity of those who wish to die, but may distress and remove the self-dignity if more people who wish to live”

Autonomy is king in North American culture, increasingly so-but there are other ethical issues at stake too.
